Cartru ("the app") is a free used car research and inspection tool. This policy explains what data the app does and does not collect.

Data We Do Not Collect

Cartru does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal information. Specifically:

• No account or registration is required.
• No name, email address, or contact details are collected.
• No location data is collected or tracked.
• No analytics, advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting tools are used.
• No inspection data you enter is sent to any server — it stays on your device only.

External Network Requests

The only external connection the app makes is to the free US government NHTSA API (api.nhtsa.dot.gov) to retrieve publicly available vehicle recall and safety data. This request contains only the car make, model, and year you enter — no personal information is included.

This request is only made when you tap "Research This Car" and are connected to the internet. It is not made automatically or in the background.

Data Stored on Your Device

The app stores your selected country and language preference locally on your device using standard app storage. This data never leaves your device.

Third-Party Services

Cartru does not integrate any third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking services.

The app may display links to external websites (such as vehicle history check services). Cartru is not responsible for the privacy practices of those external sites.

Children's Privacy

Cartru does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
